May Long Weekend

It was wonderful to have a long weekend where the only work my husband did was the 4 hours we were at church on Sunday! The rest of the weekend was ours...no phone calls or emails regarding work! :)

And it was relaxing! This past weekend, we figured out, was the only weekend until July 19 that one of us doesn't have something up or is gone! And so it was dedicated to our family! That and purchasing things for Natalie's new "big girl" room! We have decided to move Natalie into a big bed before this next little one arrives so she doesn't feel pushed out or any resentment to the baby for taking "her" space. And so, Friday we ventured out to IKEA to make some purchases. We didn't find a bed like we were looking for, but did find some great bedding and accessories, including a little table and chairs (which Natalie found by accident the other day and fell in love with!)

Saturday we did a bit more shopping for the kids rooms and hung out around our place, enjoying the beautiful weather!

Sunday we went to church and then headed to my parents for a BBQ evening. My mom had a treat for dessert of Popsicles. It was quite humorous to watch the difference between Ben and Natalie. Ben treasured every bite of his and took his time. Natalie on the other hand couldn't chew it fast enough and finished before EVERYone else!

Monday we again ventured out to Vancouver, though this time it was not for shopping. We headed down to the harbor and loaded down my Uncle's company's yacht for great family day of cruishing around. It was to celebrate a belated Mother's Day, my Uncle's birthday and my grandparents anniversary. The weather wasn't the greatest, but still we had a wonderful time playing games, eating food and hanging out as a family.

Here are some pics from our trip. Hope you all had a wonderful long weekend as well!

And Life Marches On...

Life is moving by very quickly! Its hard for me to believe that my due date is in less than 11 weeks...that's a bit scary! But we have been able to check a few things off our "To Do List" of before the baby comes. On Friday we did our hospital tour and purchased our double stroller. We also had our new bedroom set delivered, which means Natalie now has part of her new bedroom (our old stuff) and we will be finishing off her bedroom this weekend and putting her into her new "big girl bed" in the next few weeks! Slowly but surely things are getting done!

And this weekend was crazy busy, but wonderful! Friday night we headed to Nate's parents to celebrate Mother's Day with his fam. His brother and wife were able to come out from the island for the weekend and so we had a fun games and dessert family evening! Saturday we left Natalie with a "real" babysitter for the first time (real meaning not family or relatives) and headed off to a wedding! She did great and we had a nice day out.

Sunday I got to be on worship team as Nate led a youth service! This is the first time since Natalie was born that I have been on a worship team and it felt great to be serving God in that way again! And then in the afternoon, I was blessed by my wonderful daughter and husband to a Mother's Day treat! Natalie came running into my room with a card that she had signed herself! She was so proud and excited to give it to me! :) And we had a wonderful family walk and picnic at the park! It was such a wonderful Mother's Day, just to be together after the chaos of the last week.

Here is some pictures of me at 29 weeks pregnant and of our new purchase, a Phil and Teds Double stroller.

Harrison Hot Springs

Yesterday we returned from a wonderful weekend away at Harrison Hot Springs! We were attending the MB Pastor's and Spouses Retreat and we had a great time. It was wonderful to be able to get away as a family (we brought Ali along and this will most likely be our last time away just the 3 of us...) - there were great sessions and also lots of free time! Although it was hard at times to have Natalie there, namely I didn't get to hear many of the sessions, we are so glad we had her along! And having her there allowed me to get to know and connect with some of the other moms who were out of the session due to babies. And I did get to sit in on a few sessions when my mom took Ali for one morning (they were there as well)! That was a wonderful blessing!
Most of our free time was spent in the Hot Springs which Natalie absolutely loved! Her lips would be purple, but she hated getting out! She loved to sit on the side and jump in or sit or stand under the waterfall and jump in! And, the crazy kid she is, kept trying to drink the water!
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend as well. Here are a few more pics of our adventures last week...trying a popscile for the first time, going to the beach, hanging out at home...
